Because Laura is a hottie!

I have a great friend that is the only other Republican female friend I have. It is fabulous to have someone to freely talk to and not worry that you will be treated like a leper. See, eventhough I am Queen of the Land, my alter ego lives in a blue state. One of the bluest states there is. It is so difficult being a conservative here. I am the only Republican in my Yellow Dog Democratic family. I grew up in a family where politics were number one. My dad was in politics and it was just in the fabric of our family. I was a Democrat until my mid-twenties, when, much to the Dowager Queen's (my beloved, saintly, never wrong Mother.. and I say this with much love and respect) chagrin, I went over to the dark side, as she puts it. She and I never talk politics anymore without someone stomping off in a huff. I could petulantly declare that she is closed minded and could never admit that a political opinion of mine has merit, but I won't, eventhough it would be true :-þ

Anyway, back to my great friend JB, who will be here known as the Republican Princess. She is great and fearless and has really kept me strong. She backs up what she says ten-fold and never backs down. Just get her going on "The Fat Bastard". If you don't know who that refers to, then, you truly are clueless. She is truly entertaining and I say that in the most respectful way. I value her friendship dearly. She and I drank the GW Kool-aid long ago.

The Republican Princess and I had a great lunch this weekend and we were discussing the lack of t.v. media coverage on the actual visual images of what our gorgeous First Lady and her daughters wore at the Inauguration Balls. So these are for the Republican Princess, my number one Lady-in-Waiting!

There are many things that I love about GW... I have to be truthful that there ARE some thing that I don't agree with him on, but the best thing I love about GW is that I always know where he is sleeping... cause he has a hot babe in Laura! You just know that they are crazy about each other. I just LOVE that in them! I think she is just so beautiful.

I am a sucker for a good woman straightening out a wild man love story.

Anyhoo...

A great day for the Iraqi people!

"The media is reporting only explosions and suicide attacks that killed and injured many Iraqis so far but this hasn't stopped the Iraqis from marching towards their voting stations with more determination. Iraqis have truly raced the sun.

I walked forward to my station, cast my vote and then headed to the box, where I wanted to stand as long as I could, then I moved to mark my finger with ink, I dipped it deep as if I was poking the eyes of all the world's tyrants.

I put the paper in the box and with it, there were tears that I couldn't hold; I was trembling with joy and I felt like I wanted to hug the box but the supervisor smiled at me and said "brother, would you please move ahead, the people are waiting for their turn".

Yes brothers, proceed and fill the box! These are stories that will be written on the brightest pages of history.

It was hard for us to leave the center but we were happy because we were sure that we will stand here in front of the box again and again and again. Today, there's no voice louder than that of freedom.

No more confusion about what the people want, they have said their word and they said it loud and the world has got to respect and support the people's will.

God bless your brave steps sons of Iraq and God bless the defenders of freedom.

Aasha Al-Iraq….Aasha Al-Iraq….Aasha Al-Iraq."

-- Mohammed and Omar of Iraq the Model

It was absolutely fantastic watching the news and reading blogs today. It is killing the media to have to report of the high turnout for the voting. It is killing the media to have to report that hundreds of suicide bombers did not detonate and the streets did not run red with blood as was promised. As of my last read, 9 bombs were successful with 44 dead. It sucks ... It really sucks, but nothing is without sacrifice.

In all the news reports I have seen today, I can almost hear the teeth grinding as information is being reported. There is a desperation to report anything negative. You can almost physically see them stretching for something derogatory to report.

Iraqis have embraced the opportunity for democracy... Even the percentage of women voters is higher than predicted. Iraqis walked, in some places, up to 13 miles to get to the nearest polling places... and it is killing the Democrats, liberals, and the media. If this is their reaction, imagine what Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is feeling today. Karma is a bitch and may he rot in hell.

There is much still to do and to suffer through, but my money is on the Iraqi people.

God bless your brave steps sons and daughters of Iraq and God bless the defenders of freedom INDEED.

Why isn't she the poster girl for N.O.W. or the NAACP?

I admire, worship, and love this woman. She is the epitome of brilliance, grace, charm, and professional feminity. She is everything every young woman should look up to and strive for.

Congratulations Dr. Condolezza Rice!

For those who have been living in a cave, yesterday Condi was confirmed and sworn in as our Secretary of State. She has had a ridiculously stellar and illustrious career that should have N.O.W. and the NAACP doing somersaults trying to take credit for her. But both camps are silent. I just don't get it. The fact that she is a Republican and the President's right hand "man" makes them all mute and filled with ravenous hatred. Again, I just don't get it.

Growing up, education, determination, and ambition were things that we were taught to embrace, excel at, and admire. It was about accomplishment, not about what party you belonged to. We had respect for each other and acknowledged each others talents and intellectual gifts. Party was not an issue. When did this all change?

When did being a woman who rose to the top rung of the academic and political ladders not have Democrats, Liberals, and women's groups screaming with cult-like adoration? Throw in that the woman is single and an African-American who rose from segregated Alabama to the greatest heights and you have the poster-child for N.O.W. and NAACP. The NEA should also jump on the bandwagon with Condi's skipping 1st and 7th grade, entering the University of Colorado at age 15, graduating at 19, then receiving a Masters from Notre Dame in Political Science and a Doctorate in International affairs from the University of Colorado, all by the age of 27.

Where is the respect? Where is the admiration? Definitely not from ex-Klansman Sen. Robert Byrd who, in his recent diatribe against Dr. Rice from the Senate floor, referred to "separate but equal" and quoted from the Articles of Confederacy. (A Queenly nod and Knightly accolade to Lt. Smash.) Byrd is loathesome and it is shameful. Also, may I get over my rage that is hotter than the white hot intensity of a thousand Suns for the following: Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), Evan Bayh (D-Ind.), Robert C. Byrd (D-W.Va.), Mark Dayton (D-Minn.), Carl M. Levin (D-Mich.), Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), Daniel K. Akaka (D-Hawaii), Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.), Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), John F. Kerry (D-Mass.), Jack Reed (D-R.I.), and Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.), and James M. Jeffords (I-Vt.) all who voted against her confirmation.

*SHRUGGING OFF THE NEGATIVITY*

Anyhoo ... enough time on the soapbox. I am thrilled with our new Secretary of State. So, all you little courtiers and ladies-in-waiting out there, remember that February is Black History Month and March is Women's History Month, so don't forget Condi! Kiddies, she is a perfect subject for those school projects. You need look no further for inspiration! A fabulous on-line biography may be found HERE

Being wrong is not my strong suit

Greetings!

I have decided to start a blog. If you are reading this, it is something you already know. Actually, upon reflection, this is a dumbass way to start my first post... *GGRR*

Okay, let's start again....

Greetings!

Here, I'm always right. Here, I am The Queen of the Land. I will often give my opinion about world events, social subjects, and other nonsense. I may rant, just to rant. You may disagree with what I say, but I don't want to read your objections. This is my part of the internet pie. If you don't agree and feel the need to vent, I suggest you get your own damn blog. If you do post a rebuttal, I may keep it if it amuses me or if I am in one of my charming moods... otherwise it will be replaced by a notation "Posting was removed due disagreeing with The Queen of the Land"

The majority of the time in my life, people disagree with me and think I am wrong about many things. This is why I have declared that here, I am always right. I won't have to argue or prove my point. I do that enough in real life. So... enjoy, visit often. I LOVE people who agree with me and will embrace all posts that shower accolades.

Peace to my fellow humans and if it takes superior fire power, I am all for it.

Stay cool and safe.
